Cedar Pines Park

Remote. Secluded. Surrounded by forest. These are some of the images that come to mind when visiting Cedar Pines Park, located beyond Crestline as you journey northward from “Top Town Crestline”. With street names like “Mojave River Road” and “Devil’s Canyon”, each neighborhood has its own flavor steeped in mountain history.  The furthest reaches of Cedar Pines Park back up to the San Bernardino National Forest, with dedicated roadways becoming some of the more popular off-road access points around. Sawpit Canyon Road becomes 2N43, and Burnt Mill Canyon Road transitions to become 2N03, and those lead to other side-roads and hiking trails along the way. Famous for its fragrant cedar trees and towering pines, Cedar Pines Park was a secluded playground for the well-to-do in the 1930s and into the 1940s. Today it is a perfect mountain getaway, with a scattering of recent construction but mostly still hearkening back to its heyday.
